BOSTON, Mass. – Olivia Kilberg broke a scoreless deadlock nearly 35 minutes into the game and
Sydney Scobee made 41 saves for the Catamounts. However, Boston College defenseman Toni Ann Miano scored a pair of third period goals to take a 2-1 win over Vermont Saturday afternoon at Kelley Rink.

Boston College improves its league-leading record to 22-2-3 and 15-1-3 in Hockey East play while Vermont moves to 6-16-4 and 3-11-3 in conference play.

In a scoreless first period, the Catamounts and Eagles traded chances and power play opportunities. Following calls on
Amanda Drobot and Erin Connolly, the teams played 4-on-4 for two minutes.

Anna Erickson brought the puck into the Eagle zone in the best Catamount chance of the period with about five minutes remaining. With a 2-on-1 rush, Erickson attempted to fire the puck across the slot to
Alyssa Gorecki, who was unable to handle the pass.

Vermont could not find the net on its sole power play of the period while BC was 0-for-2 in the period. Shots were square at eight apiece.

With just over five minutes remaining in the second period,
Olivia Kilberg drove to the net and knocked in a
Kourtney Menches rebound to give the Cats the 1-0 lead. The goal came after offensive zone pressure for Vermont with
Daria O'Neill picking up the secondary assist.

The Catamounts held a 1-0 lead after 40 minutes of play despite the Eagles holding a 30-17 advantage in shots. Scobee stopped all 30 shots faced and Katie Burt tallied 16 saves.

Miano evened the score for the Eagles just 4:10 into the third after she ripped a shot from the point through traffic and past Scobee. Kenzie Kent and Connolly picked up assists for BC on the play.

With 11 minutes left, Gorecki picked up the puck in the offensive zone and walked in on Burt. She ripped a shot from the faceoff circle to the right of Burt, who made the save and held on for the whistle.

Miano struck again with 9:50 remaining in regulation to give BC its first lead of the afternoon. After offensive zone pressure, she took a shot from the top of the slot through four bodies in front of Scobee that found the back of the net.

Vermont could not sustain enough offensive zone pressure to pull Scobee for an extended period with an extra attacker. The Eagles held on to win 2-1 and sweep the season series with the Catamounts.

Scobee made 41 saves in the game, her second game with at least 40 saves this season. BC's Burt stopped 24 shots in the victory. Vermont killed all three shorthanded situations in the game and went 8-for-8 on the PK over the weekend.

The Catamounts return to Gutterson Fieldhouse next weekend for a pair of games with Northeastern. The puck is scheduled to drop at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 26 before a 4 p.m. start on Saturday, Jan. 27.
