COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Catamounts came within a goal of erasing a five-goal deficit in the second half, but could not find the equalizer in a tough 13-9 non-conference defeat at Ohio State on Monday night.

Brynne Yarranton each found the back of the net twice for UVM.
Courtney Cole,
Elena McWright, and
Becca Olsen rounded out the green and gold's scoring attack with one goal apiece.
Alison Bolt added a pair of assists and
Maddy Kuras saved 11 shots for the Cats in net.
Liza Hernandez recorded a hat trick for the Buckeyes. Baley Parrott, Mackenzie Maring, Molly Wood, and Morgan Fee contributed to a balanced scoring regimen with two goals apiece. Jill Rizzo picked up the win for Ohio State with seven saves.
The two squads swapped goals through the first 17 minutes but the Catamounts took their first lead of the evening when Olsen tallied an unassisted goal at the 16:53 mark.
Ohio State responded and strung together seven unanswered goals for a 9-3 lead at the 1:43 mark. UVM managed to get on the board in the final minute of the first half.
Molly Little notched her second goal of the game with 44 ticks left on the clock as the green and gold faced a 9-4 deficit at halftime.
Vermont kept the momentum rolling to start the second half with four goals from the sticks of Moore, McWright, Yarranton, and
Courtney Cole.
As the Cats looked destined to tie the game, the Buckeyes rallied with four straight scores to put the contest out of reach..
Vermont caps off the three-game road trip to start the season on Saturday, Feb. 18 at Colgate. Game time is set for 1 p.m. The game will be streamed live on the
