ABOUT THE CATAMOUNTS
The 2017 squad was picked fifth in the America East Preseason Poll and returns four of its top five point scorers from last year –
Alex Bernier,
Alison Bolt,
Meredith Moore, and
Brynne Yarranton. Bernier tallied 46 points a year ago, including 26 assists which were the third most in a single-season at UVM. Bolt closed out her junior campaign with eight goals in the last five games and led the Cats with six free-position goals. Moore returns for her senior season after netting a pair of hat tricks last season. Yarranton ranked third on the team in 2016 with 21 goals and 27 points.
NON-CONFERENCE SCHEDULE
The 2017 non-conference docket takes the Cats to six different states across the map. After starting the season with a three-game road trip at Louisville, Ohio State, and Colgate, Vermont hosts Marist on Saturday, Feb. 25 in the home opener. The green and gold hit the road again for two more road games at Siena on Wednesday, March 1 and Bryant on Saturday, March 4. UVM hosts Holy Cross on Tuesday, March 7 before heading out west. The Cats will spend a week in Denver, Col. to play Denver on Sunday, March 12 and Oregon on Friday, March 27. Vermont closes out the non-conference slate against St. Bonaventure on Wednesday, March 22 at Virtue Field before kicking off league play on Saturday, March 25 at Binghamton.

The Cornwall native coached 19 players who were selected to an All-Region Team, 11 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Americans, and eight All-ACC selections.

The Cardinals were picked seventh in the ACC Women's Lacrosse Preseason Poll after earning their third consecutive NCAA Tournament berth last season. Louisville returns seven starters from last year. Senior defender Stephanie McNamara was named to the ACC Preseason All-Conference team and helped anchor the Cardinals' defensive unit. She caused 17 turnovers and helped keep 12 opponents to single-digit scoring. McNamara was also selected to represent Australia in the 2017 FIL World Cup. Hannah Koloski returns for her senior season after earning Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLA) All-West Team honors and leading the team with 43 goals as a junior.
SCOUTING OHIO STATE
The Buckeyes return seven starters from last year's 11-6 team, including two All-Big Ten defenders in senior Christina Turner and junior Shannon Rosati. Junior Molly Wood ranked second on the team in scoring with 40 goals and won a team-high 79 draws. Senior Paulina Constant finished fourth on the team a season ago with 15 goals in 15 starts.
