SETTING THE SCENE
The Catamounts will try to make history on Wednesday night at UMass Lowell by setting the program record for consecutive overall and league wins. Vermont has tied the program mark with 15 straight games and sit atop of the America East standings with 13 conference victories. UVM's magic number to clinch the outright America East regular season title is only two games. The green and gold have one of the top offenses and defenses in the country. Vermont ranks 10th in team field-goal percentage (49.2%), owns the 31st-best scoring defense (64.0 ppg allowed), holds the 36th-highest scoring margin (+9.9), and sits 45th in total blocks (120).

ONE OF VERY FEW
Vermont is one of three teams in the country with an undefeated conference record and joins top-ranked Gonzaga and Princeton. The Cats are also in good company with the 'Zags with the longest active winning streaks. The Bulldogs are a perfect 26-0 this season while UVM sits in second with a 15-game winning streak. In New England, the green and gold lead the way with 23 victories – seven more than Rhode Island in second place.
LAMBO FACTOR
For the sixth time this season,
Anthony Lamb was named the America East Rookie of the Week on Monday. Lamb averaged 14.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game as the Catamounts posted a 3-0 week. In Thursday's 82-74 win over twin state rival UNH, Lamb recorded his second double-double of his rookie campaign with 26 points and 13 rebounds. On Sunday, Lamb scored 16 points as UVM held off UMBC for a 77-74 win. He made 4-of-7 attempts from the field and sank 7-of-8 trips to the charity stripe, including a pair that clinched UVM's victory in the final seconds. The Rochester, N.Y. native is the first Catamount to collect six America East Rookie of the Week nods since Brian Voelkel in 2010-11.
TAKING TO THE POLLS
For the second straight week, the Catamounts received a vote in the
Associated Press Top-25 Poll. UVM has more victories on the year than 21 teams in the poll. Among the nation's top mid-major programs, the green and gold cracked the top-10 in a pair of power rankings. In the

LAST TIME OUT | UMBC Highlights
Vermont earned a 77-74 America East win at UMBC on Sunday afternoon after holding off a late comeback by the Retrievers. Vermont shot 50.0% (25-for-50) from the floor and held UMBC to 41.3% (26-for-53) shooting. The Cats outrebounded the Retrievers 46-24 which turned into 18 second chances points for UVM.
Dre Wills recorded his first double-double of the season with 22 points, matching a career-high, and tallied 13 rebounds. The senior shot 9-of-12 from the floor and charted four offensive boards. Lamb dropped 16 points on 4-of-7 shooting and made 7-of-8 trips at the charity stripe.
Trae Bell-Haynes was right behind him with 15 points, five rebounds, and five assists.
Payton Henson was the fourth Catamount to post double figures with 11 points and nine rebounds.
SCOUTING UMASS LOWELL
In conference play, UMass Lowell ranks second in scoring offense (76.8 ppg) and assists (15.8 apg). Jahad Thomas owns the third-highest scoring average (18.8 ppg) against league opponents. The junior has dropped double figures in seven straight games, including four 20-point outings. He brings down 10.4 boards per game and sinking 57.1% of his shot attempts – both stats lead America East. Tyler Livingston sits second on the River Hawks squad with 13.2 points per game and has shot 57.1% (8-for-14) from beyond the arc in his last two games. Against league foes, Livingston has drained 49.3% (35-for-71) of his long distance attempts which is the fourth-best average among the conference's top shooters.
SERIES HISTORY
Vermont leads the all-times series 5-2 with UMass Lowell. A month ago, the Catamounts used double figures from four different players to earn an 81-67 conference win at Patrick Gym. The first-ever meeting between the two teams occurred just two seasons ago in Lowell, Massachusetts with a 62-48 victory for UVM. In last year's two defeats, the Cats allowed 96.5 points per game to the River Hawks, but in the green and gold only surrendered 59.5 points per contest to UMass Lowell.
