LAST TIME OUT | Binghamton Highlights
UVM junior
Justin Freitas notched his second two-goal performance in the last three games as the Catamounts beat Binghamton 2-0 on Saturday afternoon. Freitas broke the scoreless tie in the 59th minute after working a give-and-go with
Jon Arnar Barðdal. The 5-10 forward added his second goal of the afternoon in the 65th minute.
AMERICA EAST PLAYER OF THE WEEK
After helping the Cats shut out Binghamton, Freitas was named America East Player of the Week on Monday. He has climbed to second on the league's scoring list with 19 points and eight goals, trailing only teammate
Geo Alves. The pair of Dean College transfers are tied for the top spot in the conference with three game-winning goals apiece.
FIRST-ROUND BYE CLINCHING SCENARIOS
UVM can capture a first-round bye in the upcoming America East Tournament and the outright regular season title with a win or a tie at UNH.
REGULAR SEASON TITLES
The Catamounts have already captured at least a share of the America East regular season title, their third overall and first since 2012. UVM's first regular season crown came back in 1989 on its way to a program record 19-win season and recorded an unbeaten conference record (4-0-1). In 2012, the Cats posted another unblemished league mark at 5-0-2.
GOIN' BALD FOR ST. BALDRICKS
Vermont partnered with the St. Baldrick's Foundation to raise money for pediatric cancer research on Monday. Each student-athlete and coach shaved their head to support pediatric cancer research. For more information, to donate, or to view pictures from the head shaving, click the link:

FIRST-YEAR SUCCESS
Head coach
Rob Dow's 10 wins this season are the second-most among Division I rookie head coaches, trailing only FIU's Kevin Nylen with an unbeaten 11-0-4 record. Dow is the first UVM coach to lead the Cats to a regular season title in his first season and his 10 victories are the second-most by a first-year Vermont head coach.
SCOUTING NEW HAMPSHIRE
The Wildcats enter the final week of conference play ranked No. 20 in the United Soccer Coaches Top-25 Poll. UNH suffered its first loss in over a month at UMass Lowell on Saturday with a 1-0 double overtime defeat. Graduate forward Robin Schmidt is tied for fifth in the league with six goals and leads the team in points (13). Graduate goalkeeper Andrew Pesci is one of the top goalies in the country. Pesci sits third in the nation in goals-against average (0.47), sixth in shutouts (9), and 22nd in save percentage (.814).
INSIDE THE SERIES
Vermont will try to reach the win column for the third straight match against its twin state rival to the east. UVM owns an 36-17-6 all-time mark over UNH and the Cats have enjoyed success in the new millennium with a 11-4-5 record. Last year, the Green and Gold celebrated a 2-0 win at Virtue Field on Senior Night.
