FINAL SCORE (OT): Northeastern 3, Vermont 2
BOSTON – In the first meeting between the former conference rivals since 2004, Northeastern scored two penalty kick goals and stole a 3-2 overtime victory from Vermont on Tuesday night in the non-conference finale. The Catamounts drop to 9-7 overall while the Huskies improve to 3-11-3 on the year.

From the opening kickoff, the Cats wasted little time getting into an offensive rhythm.
Justin Freitas had the first shot of the night bounce off the crossbar less than 30 seconds into the game.
In the 11th minute,
Jon Arnar Barðdal notched his second goal of the season and gave UVM an early 1-0 lead.
Geo Alves sent a feed to the top of the box and Bardðal buried a low shot inside of the near post.
The Huskies tied the game on a penalty kick in the 32nd minute. After the Cats were called for a foul in the box, Khori Bennett lined the equalizer into the right side of the net.
Dan Rovira made a key defensive save for Vermont in the 56th minute. Northeastern's Dan Munch hit a one-hopper over a diving
Alex Popovich (1 save) and Rovira hustled to the goal line to clear away the scoring threat.
Northeastern took the lead in the 68th minute after Munch collected a deflection and finished inside of the far post.
With two and a half minutes left in regulation,
Mikel Kabala tied the game with his fourth penalty kick goal of the season. On the kick, the junior booted the equalizer into the bottom right corner of the net.
In overtime, Bennett gave Northeastern the walk-off win with his second penalty kick goal of the contest in the 100th minute.
