BURLINGTON, Vt. – The Vermont Catamounts used a second half rally and five points from Alison Blot to post a 14-12 victory over visiting Colgate at Virtue Field on Saturday in women's lacrosse action. UVM picks up its first win of the year to move to 1-1, while Colgate opens the 2016 season at 0-1.

Courtney Cole all added two goals each for the Catamounts.
Isabel Kreitler paced the Raiders with five goals and two assists, while Haley O'Hanlon added a hat trick and two helpers.
A pair of goals by Kreitler at the 17:07 mark of the first half gave the Raiders a 5-3 lead.
Vanessa VanderZalm's free-position shot, her first goal of the year, at the 13:47 mark sparked the Catamounts as they scored five of the next six goals to take an 8-6 lead at the break.
Colgate started the second half with three straight tallies to retake a 9-8 lead at the 26:18 mark. UVM answered with six consecutive goals, by five different scorers, including a pair from Bernier, to pull out to a 14-9 advantage.
Colgate scored three times in the final 10 minutes to climb back within two. The Catamounts were able to hold possession for the majority of the closing minutes and VanderZalm won a critical draw following the Raiders' final goal at the 2:57 mark to help UVM run out the clock.
Maddy Kuras made seven stops in the Vermont net to earn her first collegiate victory in her second career start. Asil Asfour made seven saves for Colgate in her collegiate debut.
The Catamounts hit the road for five straight games. UVM's first stop is Poughkeepsie, New York for a game at Marist on February 28 (12 p.m.). Vermont will also spend spring break in California for a three-game stretch before returning to Virtue Field on March 19 versus Siena.
