CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The undefeated and top-ranked Boston College Eagles scored four second period goals Saturday afternoon as they defeated Vermont 6-1 in Hockey East action from Kelley Rink.

Molly Depew made an outstanding save on a cross-crease one-timer from Alex Carpenter but Kenzie Kent crashed the net and stashed home the rebound for her eighth goal of the season.
Boston College gained a two-goal advantage 3:14 in to the second frame as Haley Skarupa scored her 21
st goal of the season. In transition Skarupa took a feed from Grace Bizal and skated into the Catamounts zone before wiring a wrist shot past Depew.
Carpenter scored the next two goals for the Eagles. At the 5:42 mark she forced a turnover behind the UVM net and skated out in front to score her 31
st goal of the season. Then with 6:24 left in the second period she gathered a rebound off the boards and flicked a backhand shot off Depew and in. With her second goal of the day Carpenter became just the eighth player in NCAA history with 250 career points.
70 seconds after Carpenter's second tally of the afternoon Megan Keller closed out the Eagles second period surge with her ninth goal of the season. From the point Keller one-timed a feed from Kaliya Johnson through traffic and past Depew.
Dana Trivigno picked up the sixth goal of the afternoon for Boston College 4:57 into the third period. Trivigno skated in on a breakaway after receiving a pass from Toni Ann Miano and beat Depew with a hard low shot for her ninth goal of the season.
The Catamounts ended Gabriella Switaj's bid for her second shutout of the season with a power play goal with 3:21 left in regulation.
Dayna Colang fired a shot towards the BC net that was blocked in front and
Daria O'Neill pushed the puck in traffic to Colang who found
Bridget Baker on the back door for a tap-in for her sixth goal of the season.
Switaj earned her fifth win of the season stopping 17 of the 18 shots she faced. Depew finished with 40 saves in net for Vermont, one short of her career-high.
