BURLINGTON, Vt. – Nadya Gill's goal in the 86 minute lifted the Quinnipiac Bobcats to a 2-1 victory over the Vermont Catamounts in women's soccer action on the final day of the TD Bank Classic at Virtue Field.

Quinnipiac took a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute. Jess Cascio chipped a ball from inside the penalty area to Alex Pelletier and Pelletier hit a low shot to the far post to give the Bobcats the lead.
 
Quinnipiac took the 1-0 advantage into halftime, despite Vermont owning a 6-3 edge in shots in the first 45 minutes.
 
The Catamounts pressured late in the game. In the 85th minute, Rylee Osgood deflected a clearance attempt by Quinnipiac goalkeeper Natalia Grodzki, collected the loose ball and fired a shot into the open net to even the score at 1-1.
 
The Bobcats countered just over a minute later at the 86:30 mark. Jess Fontaine made a pass from the top of the penalty area to teammate Amanda Barroca on the endline. Barroca sent a ball along the goal mouth to a wide open Gill for a tap-in goal and the game-winner.
 
Grodzki finished the game with five saves for Quinnipiac. Ally Ramos and Coco Speckmaier were credited with one save each as the duo split time in net. Vermont finished the game out shooting the Bobcats 13-8.
 
Quinnipiac moves to 3-1 on the year, while Vermont falls to 2-2 on the season.
 
New Hampshire and Kent State played to a 1-1 double-overtime draw in the first game of the day. The Wildcats earned three points in the tournament to take home the TD Bank Classic title for the third time in the 15-year history of the event.
 
Vermont returns to action on Wednesday (Sept. 9) when it travels to Siena for a 4 p.m. match in Loudonville, New York.
