VERMONT WOMEN'S HOCKEY NOTEBOOKThe Vermont women's hockey team continues non-conference play this weekend as they travel down I-89 to take on Dartmouth in their annual matchup. It will be the final contest of 2015 for the Catamounts. Faceoff is set for 4 p.m. at Thompson Arena Saturday afternoon.

44 IS THE NUMBER FOR ANDREAKOSJunior forward
Victoria Andreakos, who wears the number 44, currently sits 12
th all-time in Vermont scoring with 44 points. She has 18 goals and 26 assists in her career as a Catamount. Oddly enough she leads the team this season with 44 shots on goal.
SCORING FROM ALL CLASSESVermont's junior class has led the way in terms of offense, scoring nine of the Catamounts 25 goals this season. But Vermont has had balanced scoring with four goals from its freshmen, six from the sophomores, and six from the seniors.
CATAMOUNTS SECOND PERIODS ARE CRITICALSo far this season Vermont's struggles can in large part be traced to second period struggles. 28 of the 63 goals (44.4%) Vermont has given up have come in the middle frame. Vermont is outshooting its competition by three in the first period, but has been outshot by 112 in the second.

Amanda Pelkey was one of 22 skaters named to the inaugural NWHL All-Star Game. So far this season Pelkey is tied for sixth in league scoring with five goals and two assists for seven points in eight games. She is also tied for second in the league with two power play goals.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTDartmouth: The Big Green are 4-7-2 this season after completing a five-game road trip Tuesday night with a 3-2 loss at New Hampshire. Dartmouth is 0-2-0 against Hockey East teams this season after dropping a home game 4-1 to Maine in November. The Big Green close out their non-conference schedule at No. 7 Northeastern on January 2.
Four of the Big Green losses on their recent five-game road trip came to teams either ranked in the USCHO.com Top 10 or receiving votes in the poll, including two-games against undefeated and No. 1 Wisconsin. Dartmouth started the season with its biggest win to date, defeating No. 8 Harvard 2-1 at Thompson Arena.
Senior forward Lindsey Allen leads the team in scoring with eight goals and four assists for 12 points in 13 games. Allen scored her eighth goal of the season Tuesday night at UNH. Against Vermont last season Allen had three goals and an assist in the Big Green's 6-2 win at Gutterson Fieldhouse.
Dartmouth leads the all-time series against Vermont with 16 wins in 17 meetings. However two years ago in the teams' last game at Thompson Arena Vermont won 1-0 in overtime.
KAYLA KRUK JOINS WOMEN'S HOCKEY THROUGH TEAM IMPACTThe women's hockey team officially drafted seven-year-old Shelburne, Vt. native Kayla Kruk through Team IMPACT. Kayla celebrated her draft day with the Catamounts last Saturday in a ceremony facilitated by the 501(c)(3) non-profit, Team IMPACT, whose mission is to improve the quality of life for children facing life-threatening and chronic illnesses through the power of team.

ALL ACROSS THE MAPThe Catamounts have players from 10 different states (Alaska, California, Florida, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Vermont), two Canadian provinces (Alberta and Ontario) and two other countries (Czech Republic and Finland). Vermont has four players from Ontario more than any other state or province.
3RD ANNUAL PACK THE GUT CHALLENGE PRESENTED BY THE WINDJAMMERThe Vermont women's hockey team will host the third annual "Pack the Gut Challenge Presented by The Windjammer" on Friday January 29 as they face Connecticut.
The goal this is to break the single game Hockey East attendance record of 2,028 fans, set by Vermont in 2013, and support the local Meals on Wheels organization.
