VERMONT WOMEN'S HOCKEY NOTEBOOKThe Vermont women's hockey team continues its non-conference schedule on Saturday (Nov. 28) and Sunday (Nov. 29) as it hosts the first annual Windjammer Classic at Gutterson Fieldhouse. The Catamounts face Ohio State on Saturday and Cornell on Sunday at 4 p.m., while Boston University plays the early game at 1 p.m. each day.
All four games of the tournament will be streamed live online for free in high definition via
CatamounTV.com.

COLANG FINDING THE SCORESHEET IN LEAGUE PLAYSenior forward
Dayna Colang is the team's leading scorer with five goals and five assists for 10 points. In Vermont's eight league games she has nine points. In the Catamounts last five games she has seven points.
POWER PLAY CONTINUING TO CLICK FOR CATAMOUNTSVermont's power play is ranked 9
th in the NCAA converting on 19% of its opportunities. The Catamounts are three-for-nine on the advantage in its last three games, although they didn't have any power play time in their last game at No. 4 Northeastern.
ANDREAKOS NAMED HOCKEY EAST WEEKLY TOP PERFORMERJunior forward
Victoria Andreakos was named a Hockey East Weekly Top Performer after scoring a goal in each of Vermont's two games last weekend. She has three goals this season, all of which have come on the road.
SCOUTING THE TOURNAMENT FIELDBoston University: The Terriers are 10-6-0 this season and have won four straight games after posting back-to-back series sweeps of Maine and Merrimack. After a slow start to the season Boston University is 7-2-0 in it's last nine games with their only losses coming to No. 2 Boston College.
Sophomore forward Rebecca Leslie leads the team in scoring with 21 points in 16 games this season. Leslie has four goals and 17 assists. The Terriers are 9-2-0 this season when she gets at least a point. Junior forward Maddie Elia leads the team with 10 goals on the season.
The Terriers forward pair of Victoria Bach and Sarah Lefort were named Co-Hockey East Players of the Week after combining for 10 points in the Terriers sweep of Merrimack. Bach scored her first collegiate hat trick in the first win and added an assist in the second game. Lefort had three assists in each game.
Cornell: The Big Red make the trip to Burlington with a 3-5-2 record, last weekend they split a series at Mercyhurst losing in the first game 5-1 before recovering to win their third game of the season 6-1.
Junior forward Hanna Burton notched her first career hat trick as a part of a four-point outing in the Big Red's win over the Lakers. Bunton leads the team in scoring this season with eight goals and four assists for 12 points in 10 games.
The Big Red have played four different goalies this season although junior Paula Voorheis has seen the majority of action. She has a 2-3-1 record this season with a goals-against average of 2.23 and a save percentage of .921.
The Big Red lead the all-time series against the Catamounts with a record of 11-1-1. The teams have not met since October 25, 2008, and Vermont's lone win came on January 22, 2005 in a 1-0 decision at Gutterson Fieldhouse.
Ohio State: The Buckeyes enter the Windjammer Classic with a record of 5-9-0. Ohio State has won just once in its last six games but that came in an impressive 3-2 win at No. 9 North Dakota. Seven of the Buckeyes nine losses have come to teams currently ranked in the USCHO.com poll.
Senior forward Kendall Curtis leads the team in scoring with seven goals and five assists for 12 points in 14 games this season. She is also the only skater on the Buckeyes with a plus-minus rating above even with a +4.
Sophomore goaltender Alex LaMere has seen the majority of action for Ohio State. She enters the weekend with a record of 3-6-0. She has made 230 saves and carries a goals-against average of 3.21.
The Buckeyes are the most penalized team in the NCAA averaging 9.9 penalty minutes a game. Vermont and Boston University are in the top-15 on the power play and will look to capitalize on any undisciplined play from Ohio State.
This will be the first-ever meeting between these two programs. Under Coach Plumer Vermont is 1-3-0 against WCHA opponents.
KAYLA KRUK JOINS WOMEN'S HOCKEY THROUGH TEAM IMPACTThe women's hockey team officially drafted seven-year-old Shelburne, Vt. native Kayla Kruk through Team IMPACT. Kayla celebrated her draft day with the Catamounts last Saturday in a ceremony facilitated by the 501(c)(3) non-profit, Team IMPACT, whose mission is to improve the quality of life for children facing life-threatening and chronic illnesses through the power of team.

ALL ACROSS THE MAPThe Catamounts have players from 10 different states (Alaska, California, Florida, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Vermont), two Canadian provinces (Alberta and Ontario) and two other countries (Czech Republic and Finland). Vermont has four players from Ontario more than any other state or province.
3RD ANNUAL PACK THE GUT CHALLENGE PRESENTED BY THE WINDJAMMERThe Vermont women's hockey team will host the third annual "Pack the Gut Challenge Presented by The Windjammer" on Friday January 29 as they face Connecticut.
The goal this is to break the single game Hockey East attendance record of 2,028 fans, set by Vermont in 2013, and support the local Meals on Wheels organization.
