BURLINGTON, Vt. – Kiana Rugar picked up two assists to lead the Albany Great Danes to a 2-0 victory over Vermont in America East women's soccer action at Virtue Field on Sunday.

Albany held a 12-2 advantage in shots in the first 45 minutes, but the teams headed into halftime tied at 0-0.

The Great Danes were able to strike twice in a four-minute span to take a 2-0 lead. Kelly Kempf headed in a cross from Rugar in the 64th minute. Rugar's second helper of the afternoon came in the 68th minute. Her shot from distance glanced off the head of teammate Mariah Williams redirecting the ball into the net for Albany's second tally of the game.

Albany was able to keep the clean sheet the rest of the way and finished the game with a 21-4 lead in shots. Alana Olivieri was credited with two stops for the Great Danes, while
Ally Ramos made eight saves for Vermont.
