Men's Basketball Hosts Dartmouth in Final Non-Conference Contest Wednesday

BURLINGTON, Vt. - The Vermont men's basketball team hosts Dartmouth on Wednesday (Jan. 14) in the final non-conference game of the season. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Patrick Gymnasium. Tickets are available online at UVMathletics.com, in person at the UVM Athletic Ticket Office (M-F: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.), via the phone at 802-656-4410 and in person one hour before game time in the Patrick Gymnaisum Lobby.

Wednesday's game can be heard on ESPN 101.3 FM (online: 1013ESPN.com) with A.J. Kanell calling the action. The game will also be streamed for free in HD via CatamounTV.com.

The Catamounts improved to 7-8 with a 71-57 win over Stony Brook on Saturday and have won two straight. The Big Green own a record of 6-7 and have won three of its last five. Dartmouth is coming off a 57-46 loss to Harvard on Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT - Vermont 71, Stony Brook 57 
Ethan O'Day led three Catamounts in double figures, netting 16 points and grabbing nine rebounds. O'Day was 5-for-12 from the floor, 6-for-6 from the foul line and added three blocks. Kurt Steidl added 13 points and Dre Wills chipped in 12 points, five rebounds and five steals. Vermont used a solid defensive effort to earn its 13th straight America East regular season victory. The Catamounts held Stony Brook to 37.3 percent shooting from the field and out rebounded the Seawolves 30-26 overall and 23-17 on the defensive glass.

ABOUT DARTMOUTH
Dartmouth is 6-7 overall and has won three of its last five, but is coming off a 57-46 loss to Harvard on Saturday ... Alex Mitola leads the team in scoring at 14.2 points per game and had his streak of 16 straight games with 10+ points halted at Harvard ... Gabas Maldunas is collecting a team-high 6.6 rebounds per game and chipping in 10.8 points per game ... Connor Boehm rounds out the leading scorers for the Big Green, averaging 11.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game ... As a team, Dartmouth is averaging 62.7 points per game, while giving up 61.9 to opponents ... The Big Green are shooting 42.9 percent from the floor, 36.1 percent from 3-point range and 64.9 percent from the foul line ... Dartmouth is out rebounding opponents 34.5 to 32.2 on the year.

THE SERIES
Wednesday is the 99th meeting between the two teams ... Dartmouth owns a 57-41 advantage in the series, but UVM is 33-14 over the last 42 seasons and have won the last six straight and 14 of the last 15 ... Wednesday marks the 53rd consecutive year the two teams have met ... Vermont won 62-53 in Hanover last season ... Clancy Rugg scored a career-high 24 points and Brian Voelkel added 14 points and a game-high 15 rebounds to lead the Catamounts.

BECKER GETS 80th WIN
Vermont coach John Becker picked up his 80th career victory as a head coach with the victory over Stony Brook. Prior to arriving at UVM, Becker spent two seasons as the head coach at G
allaudet University in Washington, D.C. Gallaudet is the world's only university specifically designed for the deaf and hard of hearing.

CATAMOUNTS ARE GREEN
According to KenPom.com, Vermont is the 23rd least experienced team in the country ... Binghamton is the least experienced team in the country overall and Hartford is the third most experienced team in the nation.
