BURLINGTON, Vt. – The Vermont women's soccer team heads to Hamilton, New York this weekend for two games in the Colgate Nike Classic. The Catamounts will take on the hosts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday (Sept. 5) and will face Syracuse at 11 a.m. on Sunday (Sept. 7).
Vermont stands at 2-1 on the season. After winning its own TD Bank Classic to open the year with victories over Central Connecticut (W, 3-2 2OT) and Youngstown State (W, 3-2 OT), the Catamounts dropped a 1-0 decision at Fordham last Friday.

ABOUT COLGATEThe Raiders are 1-1-1, opening the season with a 3-1 loss at Boston College and bouncing back with a 1-0 win over Providence. Colgate most recently played to a 0-0 draw with Colorado College. Corey Persson and Emily Crichlow have each scored once for the Raiders. Colgate went 10-6-3 overall and 6-2-1 in the Patriot League last season. The Raiders were picked to finish third in the Patriot League Preseason Poll.
ABOUT SYRACUSEThe Orange own a record of 1-1-2 overall and are coming off a 1-1 draw against UConn. Syracuse opened the year with a 0-0 tie against Missouri and fell 2-0 at Penn State in the Penn State Invitational. The Orange picked up their first win of the year with a 5-1 victory over Albany. Stephanie Skilton is the team's leading scorer with two goals and four other players have recoded one tally this season. Syracuse went 7-11-1 overall, 3-9-1 in the ACC last season and was picked to finish in the 11th in the ACC Preseason Poll.
Following the two games in Hamilton, New York, the Catamounts wrap up their four-game road swing with a match at Quinnipiac on September 13.
