HAMDEN, Conn. – Ousmane Drame posted a double-double with game-highs of 33 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Quinnipiac Bobcats to an 89-73 win over visiting Vermont in non-conference men's basketball action at the TD Bank Center. Quinnipiac improves to 3-2 on the year, while Vermont falls to 3-3 overall.
Drame went 10-for-14 from the floor and 13-for-16 from the line for Quinnipiac. Evan Conti added 22 points, including four 3-pointers, for the Bobcats.
Seniors
Hector Harold and
Ryan Pierson paced Vermont with 14 points each. Freshmen
Cam Ward and
Trae Bell-Haynes also reached double figures, netting 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Brendan Kilpatrick, but QU answered with an 18-3 run, fueled by 13 points from Conti, to push its advantage to 22 with 5:21 left in the first half.
The Bobcats went into the locker room leading 43-24 after shooting 55.2 percent from the floor and held a 27-6 edge on the glass. Vermont shot 33.3 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes.
Quinnipiac maintained its double-digit lead throughout the second half. Vermont would cut the lead to 11 several times, the last with 6:27 remaining in the game, but could not get the game into single-digits.
UVM bounced back to shoot 58.3 percent from the floor in the final 20 minutes, but the deficit was too much to overcome.
The Catamounts return to Burlington for a four-game homestand, the longest of the season. UVM opens the four-game stretch hosting Hartford in the first America East game of the year on Wednesday (Dec. 3) at 7 p.m.

NOTES: Both teams shot over 30 free throws in the contest, UVM was 24-for-30, while the Bobcats were 28-for-32 … QU finished the game out rebounding UVM 40-16 … The Catamounts committed a season-low six turnovers in the contest and scored 15 points off 16 QU miscues.
