BURLINGTON, Vt. – The Vermont women's soccer continues America East play this week. UVM begins the week with a trip to Orono, Maine to face the Maine Black Bears on Thursday (Oct. 9) and returns home to host UMass Lowell on Sunday (Oct. 12).

UMass Lowell Game Coverage – Live Video – CatamounTV.com (free) The Catamounts stand at 3-8-1, 1-2-0 in America East. UVM posted a 2-1 victory against defending America East Champion UMBC in the conference opener, but dropped a 6-0 decision at Albany on Sunday.

Sarah Martin leads the team in scoring with five goals and 11 points. Sophomore
Nikki McFarland has added six points on a pair of goals and assists. Junior goalkeeper
Ally Ramos is coming off a nine-save effort against Albany and owns a .734 save percentage.
Maine enters the match with a 3-6-3 record and is unbeaten in league play (1-0-2). The Black Bears opened the conference action with a 0-0 draw at Binghamton, followed that with a 1-0 win over Stony Brook and played to a 0-0 tie with New Hampshire on Sunday. Charlene Achille is the team's leading scorer with four goals and eight points.
UMass Lowell began the week with a 4-8 record and stood at 1-2 in league play. The River Hawks posted a 3-1 win over Stony Brook in the league opener, but fell 5-1 at Hartford and 4-0 at Binghamton on Sunday. Taylor Chianese leads the team in scoring with three goals and seven points.

RALLY AGAINST CANCER: Vermont's match against UMass Lowell will be the team's Rally Against Cancer Game presented by Otter Creek Awnings and Vermont Custom Closets. The Catamounts will wear special pink jerseys for the game, which will be auctioned off. Stay tuned or more details on the auction.
