BURLINGTON, Vt. – Aaliyah Ingram finished off a pass from Elise Galipo four minutes into overtime to lift the Hartford Hawks to a 2-1 victory over Vermont in the America East regular season finale for both teams at Virtue Field on Sunday.
With the win and a loss by UMBC to Binghamton (1-0 2OT), Hartford clinched the America East Regular Season title and the No. 1 seed in the upcoming conference playoffs. The Hawks improved to 9-3-4 overall and 5-1-1 in the league. Vermont closed out its season at 3-11-2 and 1-5-1 in the conference.

Galipo scored on a through ball from Kristen McAdams in the 53rd minute to give Hartford a one-goal lead. Galipo picked up the pass from McAdams in stride and beat UVM goalkeeper

Hartford's lead was short lived. Nearly 10 seconds later UVM freshman
Sarah Martin scored on a shot from 30 yards out off the kickoff. Martin's shot surprised Hartford goalkeeper Jessica Jurg, sailing over her outstretched arm to level the score at 1-1. It was Martin's team-leading sixth goal of the year.
Ingram's game-winner in the 94th minute was a shot from the right side to the upper middle of the net, over Green's hands.
Green, a midfielder, who was playing her second game in net after being forced into action with UVM's two regular goalkeepers unavailable, finished the day with three saves for Vermont. Jurg was credited with two saves for the Hawks.
NOTES: Vermont honored its senior class of
Amanda Moschella and
Bre Pletnick prior to kickoff … Pletnick appeared in her 71st career game against Hartford, tying for fourth among UVM's all-time leaders in games played … The Catamounts played their fourth overtime game in the last six matches today and went to extra time in eight games this season.
